1. Who we are

LifeDates is provided by Fear Army LTD, trading as Insane Rabbit Labs ("we", "us" or "our"). Fear Army LTD is a company registered in England and Wales under company number 13087049, with its registered office at 11 Charlotte Place, London, United Kingdom, W1T 1SJ.

For personal information that we receive directly, for example when you email support, we are the data controller. Contact us at support@insanerabbit.com.

2. What this policy covers

This policy covers the LifeDates iOS app, its widgets, reminders, share cards and other app features; this LifeDates website and creator programme; App Store purchases and entitlements; and messages you send to our support channels (together, the "Service").

Apple and any other app, website or service you choose to use have their own privacy policies. Their handling of information is not controlled by this policy.

3. Information you add to LifeDates

Depending on the features you use, you may add names or nicknames, dates of birth, pet birth or adoption dates, photographs, relationship labels, notes, important dates, reminder preferences, milestone preferences, and theme, widget or share-card settings.

LifeDates uses this information on your device to calculate exact ages and days lived, estimate supported pet ages, show birthday and date countdowns, identify milestones, create widgets and share cards, and schedule reminders.

Where this information staysSaved LifeDates profiles and personal dates are designed to remain locally on your device. The optional creator programme has separate website accounts for approved affiliates, but these accounts never contain the people, pets, dates or notes saved in your app.

Local app data remains on your device until you edit or delete it, reset the app, or uninstall LifeDates. Depending on your Apple settings, it may also be included in an encrypted device backup, iCloud backup or device transfer controlled by Apple. Restoring a backup may restore that data.

If you enter information about another person, you are responsible for having a lawful reason and any permission needed to store or share it. Avoid adding sensitive notes that are not necessary.

4. Device permissions and Apple features

Contacts

If you choose to import birthdays, iOS presents the contact picker. Only contacts you select are processed for import. LifeDates saves the selected contact's name, full birthday and available thumbnail locally on your device. We do not upload your address book to a LifeDates server.

Photos and camera

If you choose a profile picture, the selected image is used locally for the profile and features you create. Sharing a card only occurs when you initiate the iOS share flow and choose a destination.

Notifications, widgets and calendars

With your permission, LifeDates schedules notifications locally through iOS. Widgets use locally available app data. If you choose to export a birthday or important date, LifeDates asks iOS for calendar access and writes the event you selected to your Apple Calendar. You can change permissions in iOS Settings and remove exported calendar events in Calendar.

LifeDates does not need precise location, microphone, facial-recognition or biometric-identification access for its core features.

5. Purchases and Premium

Apple processes LifeDates purchases, subscriptions, renewals, cancellations, refunds, billing details and payment information. We do not receive your full payment-card details.

LifeDates may receive limited transaction and entitlement information from Apple, such as product and transaction identifiers, purchase date, subscription status, renewal or expiry state, price, currency, offer identifier and refund status. This is used to unlock Premium, restore purchases, prevent misuse, provide purchase support and, where a creator code was claimed, calculate affiliate commission.

If you choose to claim a creator code, LifeDates sends that code, an app installation identifier and app version to our affiliate system. It receives a random account token that StoreKit attaches to eligible purchases. Apple returns the same token with purchase and renewal information, allowing us to attribute commission without receiving your name, Apple ID, payment details or the personal dates stored in LifeDates.

6. Creator programme

If you apply to become a LifeDates creator, we collect the information in the application form, including your name, email, country, public social handles and profile links, follower or like figures, audience description, proposed content idea and payout email. We use this information to review your application, contact you, prevent duplicate or fraudulent applications and administer the programme.

Approved creators receive a private portal account. We store their referral code, programme status, commission rate, tracked link clicks, code claims, attributed transaction events, payout records and an audit history of administrative decisions. Public social profiles may be checked manually to confirm fit and the figures supplied. Applications are not approved solely by automated decision making.

7. Support and correspondence

If you contact us, we may receive your name, email address, message, screenshots, app or device details you choose to provide and any other information in your correspondence. We use it to respond, troubleshoot, maintain appropriate business records, protect our rights and improve LifeDates.

Please do not include another person's birth date, private notes or other unnecessary personal information in a support message.

8. Website and technical information

The LifeDates website uses limited, first-party analytics operated by Insane Rabbit Labs to understand which public pages are visited and whether download links are used. Each event contains the LifeDates project identifier, event name, page path, page title, a referring site or same-site path, and randomly generated anonymous browser and session identifiers. Page paths and referrers are stripped of query parameters and fragments. The event payload does not include names, email addresses, form contents, search text, authentication details or IP addresses.

The anonymous browser identifier is stored in local storage under ir_analytics_anonymous_id. The session identifier is stored in session storage under ir_analytics_session_id and is renewed after 30 minutes without activity. These are not advertising cookies, are not used to build an advertising profile and can be removed by clearing this website's browser data. Our hosting, analytics and security infrastructure may automatically receive ordinary technical request information, such as an IP address, browser type, operating system, requested page, timestamps and diagnostic or security events, to deliver, measure and protect the website.

The website uses externally hosted fonts. The font provider may receive technical request information, including your IP address, when those files load. Links to the App Store and other sites take you to services governed by their own policies.

We may receive limited crash and diagnostic information made available by Apple, such as app version, device model, iOS version, language or region, crash logs and performance data. The app contains no advertising SDK and no third-party behavioural analytics SDK.

9. How we use information

Where we receive or process personal information, we use it to:

  • provide the features you request;
  • calculate ages, countdowns and milestones locally;
  • manage Premium entitlements and restore purchases;
  • review creator applications and administer referrals, commission and payouts;
  • respond to support and privacy requests;
  • maintain, secure, debug and improve the Service;
  • prevent fraud, misuse and security incidents;
  • keep business, tax and transaction records; and
  • comply with law and enforce our rights.

We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not use saved profiles, birthdays, notes, relationships, reminders or pet information for targeted advertising, cross-app tracking or social profiling. We do not make solely automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.

10. Legal bases

Where UK or European data protection law applies, our legal bases are:

  • Contract: to provide LifeDates, Premium, the creator programme and support you request.
  • Legitimate interests: to operate, secure, troubleshoot and improve the Service, review programme fit, prevent misuse and maintain appropriate records, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Consent: where required for optional permissions or a particular use. You can withdraw permission through iOS Settings or by contacting us.
  • Legal obligation: where we must keep or disclose information to comply with law.

You are not legally required to provide personal information to us. If you do not grant an optional device permission, only the feature that relies on it may be unavailable.

11. When information may be shared

We may share limited information with providers that help us distribute, host, secure, support or operate the Service, including Apple, Cloudflare for the affiliate database, Vercel for website hosting, and payment or support providers. They may process information only for their role and under their own obligations.

We may also disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with law, court orders or valid legal process; protect users, the public, our rights or the Service; investigate fraud or security issues; or support a merger, financing, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality and notice where required.

When you choose to share a LifeDates card, calendar event or other output, you direct where it goes. Review it before sharing because the recipient or destination service controls what happens next.

12. How long information is kept

  • Local app data: until you edit or delete it, reset the app or uninstall LifeDates, subject to backups you control.
  • Creator applications: unsuccessful applications are normally kept for up to 12 months so we can manage reapplications, decisions and fraud prevention.
  • Active creator records: while the account remains active and afterwards for as long as needed for payouts, tax, accounting, disputes and legal obligations.
  • Support correspondence: for as long as reasonably needed to answer, manage follow-up, improve support and establish or defend legal claims.
  • Transactions and entitlements: for as long as needed to provide Premium, restore purchases, calculate commission, prevent fraud and meet accounting or legal requirements.
  • Website analytics: the anonymous browser identifier remains until you clear this website's browser data. The session identifier lasts for the browser session and is renewed after 30 minutes without activity. Received events are kept only as long as reasonably necessary to understand and improve website usage.
  • Website security logs: according to the hosting or security provider's configured retention and only as long as reasonably necessary for delivery, reliability and security.

We may retain information for longer when law requires it or a dispute, investigation or security incident makes that reasonably necessary.

13. Your choices and privacy rights

You can edit or delete locally stored profiles inside LifeDates, manage notifications and other permissions in iOS Settings, remove exported events in Apple Calendar, and manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple account.

Depending on where you live and the information we hold, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or to object to processing. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.

Your right to objectWhere we rely on legitimate interests, you may object to that processing. Email support@insanerabbit.com. We will stop unless we have compelling legitimate grounds or need the information for legal claims.

We may ask for information needed to verify and respond securely to a request. Because most LifeDates content stays only on your device, we generally cannot access, recover or delete that local content for you.

If you are in the UK, you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or telephone 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first.

14. Children

LifeDates is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Parents or guardians should supervise younger users. If you believe a child has sent personal information to our support channels, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

15. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures for information we handle. The app's local-first design limits transfer of personal dates, but no device, app, website, backup or transmission is completely secure. Keep your device passcode, Apple ID, backups and sharing choices secure.

16. International transfers

We are based in the United Kingdom. Some providers may process limited information in other countries. Where data protection law requires it, transfers are supported by an adequacy regulation, approved contractual safeguards or another lawful transfer mechanism. Contact us if you would like more information about applicable safeguards.

17. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect product, provider or legal changes. We will revise the date above and, where a change materially affects your rights or how we use information, provide additional notice where appropriate. Earlier versions may be requested by email.
