How to set a pet birthday reminder

LifeDates treats pets as their own profiles rather than squeezing them into a generic calendar event. That means one date can power the next birthday, exact age, days alive and supported pet-year estimates.

1. Open the Pets tab and tap to add a profile.
2. Choose the animal type, add a name and enter the birth date.
3. Add a photo and notes if you want a more personal timeline.
4. Turn on a birthday reminder and choose when it should arrive.
5. Check the Today screen for the next upcoming pet event.

What if I do not know my pet's birthday?

Many rescued or adopted animals have an estimated age rather than a documented date of birth. Use the best estimate provided by the rescue or veterinarian. Add a short note that the date is approximate so the timeline remains honest.

You can choose a memorable day within the estimated month if that is how your family celebrates. The reminder is there to create a meaningful tradition; it does not turn an estimate into a medical fact.

Track adoption day or “gotcha day” too

A pet's arrival can be as important as its birthday. Add adoption day as a recurring Important Date and set its own reminder. Keeping it separate preserves both stories: age since birth and time together.
