How do I find how many days old I am?

Subtract your date of birth from today's date using real calendar dates. The result is the number of complete days elapsed, including every 29 February in the interval. The calculator above also converts the result into complete weeks plus remaining days.

The homepage exact age calculator reports total days alongside calendar age. Every calculation happens privately in your browser.

Days-old worked example

Someone born on 10 March 2000 is 9,666 days old on 27 August 2026. That equals 1,380 complete weeks and 6 days. Their 10,000th day is Tuesday, 27 July 2027.

Why age × 365 is not exact

Multiplying whole years by 365 misses every 29 February you have lived through and ignores the partial year since your last birthday. A 30-year-old has normally lived more than 10,950 days, but the exact total depends on the birth date, today's date and the leap years between them.

Days lived and “day number”If you count the day you were born as day one for a celebration, the label may be one greater than the number of full days elapsed. Decide whether you mean elapsed duration or an inclusive numbered day.

What are the best days-old milestones?

Round day counts turn ordinary dates into rare occasions. Popular milestones include 1,000, 5,000, 10,000, 20,000 and 25,000 days old. One thousand weeks, round months and millions of minutes create other ways to notice time without waiting for a decade birthday.

To estimate the next thousand-day milestone, divide your days lived by 1,000, round up to the next whole number and multiply by 1,000. For the exact date, add the remaining calendar days to today rather than converting back through approximate years.

Track days alive automatically

Save a profile in LifeDates and the count stays current without another calculation. The profile combines days lived with:

  • Exact calendar age in years, months and days
  • Weeks and months lived
  • Upcoming thousand-day milestones
  • Half birthdays and round ages
  • Optional milestone reminders and share cards

This is useful for your own timeline, children and family, and pets whose development often feels more natural in weeks or months than whole years.

Days-old questions

How many days are in 18 years?

There is no single exact answer without dates because the interval can include four or five leap days. Use a date-based calculation for an exact total.

Does today count?

A duration normally counts fully elapsed days. A celebratory “day of life” number may count the birth date as day one. LifeDates displays elapsed days lived.
